Waterborne diseases are one of the leading causes of illness and death in rural Cambodia. Thankfully, there’s a simple solution: new wells equipped with biosand filters that remove bacteria and other contaminants, bringing the promise of clean water to remote villages.

Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy, along with our guests, is proud to support the Cambodia Clean Water Project. Since 2008, we have installed more than 1,300 wells and biosand filters — delivering clean water to more than 20,000 people.

Every well can provide up to 15 people with enough clean water each day for drinking, cooking, washing and caring for vegetable gardens. Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy collaborates with a local partner organization that works closely with village elders to identify the communities and individuals most in need.

Learn More About Donating a Well

A gift of USD $500 builds a well with a biosand water filter for a family in the rural area around Siem Reap. You will receive a certificate, which includes a photo and information on the family, and GPS coordinates for the well. In addition, your name will be featured at the well site.

Through Abercrombie & Kent’s established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Abercrombie & Kent Philanthropy (AKP), 100 percent of every donation will go directly to the project. Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed under law. AKP will provide a receipt for your contribution.
