Luxury Vacations in Nepal
Prayer flags flutter in the breeze in the hills outside Kathmandu, around the golden stupa spire of a Buddhist monastery. Inside, prayer wheels are being turned slowly, a bell chiming with each rotation.
The sound shimmers in the air like crystals; birds take flight. Nepal is full of fragile moments like this, of sudden reveals, of accidental theatre. It’s a country synonymous with the Himalaya, of course, and Mount Everest, that natural monument to human endurance and achievement. Nepal is a country best seen on foot, from guided treks through the villages and rhododendron forests of the Annapurna and Everest regions to temple safaris through the three royal cities of the Kathmandu Valley. Hike up to the monkey temple of Swayambhunath and the whole valley is spread out below. In the north, the ancient forbidden kingdom of Mustang is open to travellers again, with a new gamechanger hotel, Shinta Mani Mustang, for a cultural deep dive. In the lowlands of the south, Chitwan National Park is alive with the snort and rumble of one-horned rhinoceros and elephant, and the possibility of glimpsing a tiger. Once visited, Nepal is a country that draws you back again and again.
